As a Principal Solutions Architect at AWS, I architect transformative cloud solutions that drive business outcomes, with deep expertise in Machine Learning and Generative AI. My evolution from hands-on developer to enterprise architect gives me a unique lens for building scalable, efficient solutions that bridge technical excellence with business value.

𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 🎯 I specialize in Media & Entertainment, guiding organizations through complex digital transformations. As a founding member of AWS’s global expert group for Advertising and Marketing Technology, I combine deep industry knowledge with practical implementation experience to solve real-world challenges.

𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 & 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 💡 I’m passionate about demystifying emerging technologies, particularly Generative AI. Through industry speaking engagements, technical deep-dives, and strategic keynotes, I help teams understand not just the “how” but the “why” and “what’s next” of technology adoption. My content focuses on practical implementation while thoughtfully examining the broader implications of technological change.

𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 🏔️ When I’m not architecting cloud solutions, you’ll find me exploring mountain trails. This love for nature provides the perfect counterbalance to my technical work and often inspires fresh perspectives on complex problems.

“Mmmhh, da haste dir aber nen Thema ausgesucht & ich hoffe sehr, dass du dabei im Kopf behältst, wie wenig sich Asymmetrien letzten Endes vermeiden lassen. Ganz ähnlich, wie Ambivalenzen zum Menschsein gehören & nicht aufzulösen sind.”
“You’ve picked quite a topic — and I very much hope you keep in mind how little asymmetries can ultimately be avoided. Much like ambivalences are part of being human and cannot be resolved.”

How Do Planes Actually Generate Lift?

TL;DR: Most of us were told that a wing’s top is longer, so the air going over it has to speed up to meet the air underneath at the back edge, that faster air means lower pressure, and that this is lift. Almost every piece of that is wrong or beside the point. On a lifting wing the two air parcels never meet again. The one over the top gets to the trailing edge first, by a wide margin. A wing lifts by turning the passing air downward, and the air pushes the wing up by exactly as much (Newton’s third law). The lower pressure on top is real too. It’s the other half of the same flow, and neither half comes from a longer path. That’s why a flat paper plane and a symmetric wing both fly, and why planes fly upside down at air shows. This is the fifth Lunch Break Physics.

This is part five of Lunch Break Physics, the series that has argued a suction cup isn’t sucking, a fridge doesn’t make cold, the sky isn’t blue because it reflects the sea, and ice floats because water freezes into a roomy cage. Back in part one I dodged the wing and promised that “lift deserves its own lunch break, and it’ll get one.” Here it is. The physics below is standard, and the sources are at the bottom. If I got something wrong, tell me in the comments.

You Remember Every Word. They Got 200 Messages.

TL;DR: You spent an hour on the message. They gave it four seconds, somewhere between message 87 and message 88 of their day. Then you waited, and in the silence you built a story: they read it, they’re deciding not to answer, something is wrong. Almost none of that is true. The research says attention is a conserved resource (Simon); your message never competed with silence, it competed with everything else in the pile. The spotlight effect (Gilovich) says you are peripheral in their world, not centered, so delay is queue position, not verdict. And the person who tries to keep up with everything pays for it in burnout and lost sleep (Barber & Santuzzi): the receiver isn’t lazy, they’re drowning. The loop compounds. You read delay as a verdict, so you follow up, which adds to the pile that caused the delay. The fix is mechanics on both sides. The sender writes for triage, de-spotlights the silence, negotiates the channel once, and sends one value-adding follow-up. The receiver answers cheap, publishes their latency norm, batches and detaches, and closes the loops they drop. This is Part 9, the closer, of a loose series on asymmetries, and it loops back to Part 1: the wait, now decoded from inside the inbox. Most of the evidence is correlational and self-reported, so treat it as a well-lit map, not a law of physics.

A note on where this comes from: I’m not a psychologist. I read the research because I keep living both sides of this — some days I’m the one re-reading a message I sent and reading meaning into the silence, and some days I’m the one with 200 unread and a genuine intention to reply that never survives the day. Every study I lean on is cited at the bottom. Where a number is a vendor survey rather than a peer-reviewed finding, I say so. And this is not burnout advice; if the inbox dread never switches off for you, that’s a different conversation than a blog post can have.
