Mountain landscape on a trail

About

Stefan Christoph

I’m Stefan Christoph, a Principal Solutions Architect at AWS, based in Düsseldorf. I work on machine learning and generative AI, and lately mostly on agents: what it takes to move them from an impressive demo to something that runs in production.

I started as a hands-on developer and grew into enterprise architecture. That path still shapes how I look at problems: I want the architecture to be sound, and I want to know how it behaves when real people use it.

What I work on

Much of my customer work is in media and entertainment. I’m a founding member of AWS’s global expert group for advertising and marketing technology, and I like problems where industry knowledge and engineering have to meet.

I also spend a lot of time explaining emerging technology, especially generative AI: not only how it works, but why it behaves the way it does and what is likely to come next. The posts here follow the same idea. Some are hands-on builds with code, some are about the laws and asymmetries that shape how teams and systems work, and some are short physics explanations written over lunch.

I speak at conferences and mentor builders; get in touch if that is useful to you.

Beyond technology

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me on a mountain trail. Time outside is the counterweight to screen work, and it is often where a stuck problem gets unstuck.

How this site is made

This site is written with an AI-assisted pipeline: research, drafting, editing and publishing are supported by AI agents built with Kiro. The pipeline is open source at github.com/stechr/kiro-content-pipeline, and the AI Content Pipeline series describes each stage. Every post is reviewed by me before it is published, and I am responsible for what it says.
