All of us can relate to that feeling when we got our first pocket money 🎯 Entering a new stage of power and independence.

Parents can relate to that moment too - just from the other side 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Empowering their kids. Putting trust in them while navigating doubts.

Most readers here are considered grown-ups (personally, I still struggle with that term - there’s always more growth to explore! 😅), so at some point, we earned that trust and everything turned out successful.

I’ve been looking forward to this for quite some time. This enables AI Agents to be empowered to participate in financial actions, based on user consent - either being present during the transaction to consent or providing consent upfront within the task given to the agent.

This week, the Agent Payment Protocol (AP2) was released 📋 https://cloud.google.com/blog/products/ai-machine-learning/announcing-agents-to-payments-ap2-protocol

It addresses the scenarios above and is an open protocol that can be implemented by various market players. Notably, the actual payment transactions stay within the scope of payment providers, so LLMs and Agents are just interacting based on this framework. Deterministic. No room for hallucinations.
