Create. Connect. Captivate. In this year’s NAB edition AWS focussed on 4 showcase stories — each pitched at what the tech is meant to enable:
- Radio and podcasts Speed production, migrate operations out of dispersed on-prem facilities, and improve monetization with generative AI and cloud services
- Live cloud production for sports Cloud-based production, playout, and delivery of live broadcasts and events
- Fan engagement Capture and retain audience attention, while providing more interactive and immersive experiences with cloud-based technology
- Multi-channel monetization Maximize advertising revenue while driving customer engagement and personalization across platforms and channels
We showcased 30+ different demos at our booth. Hard choice, but let me highlight two which resonated a lot from perspective:
Hyper-personalized virtual ads for live sports
TGI Sport’s AWS-powered demo showcases a virtual ad placement workflow that lets publishers dynamically insert targeted brand placements into video content post-production — a monetization mechanism for existing content, meeting advertisers’ needs for flexibility and audience-specific targeting.

Automated highlights, reels creation and discovery AWS’s media lake solution combines generative AI, event-driven architecture, and partner technologies to help sports broadcasters automatically create and adapt highlights for multiple aspect ratios — aiming at faster delivery to fans with less of the manual effort traditionally required.

But this is just the tip of the iceberg. Head over to https://aws.amazon.com/media/nab25-demos/ to learn more about the other demo cases we showed.
Also very present at this NAB was the Amazon Nova team. Releasing the new Amazon Nova Sonic model, which AWS’s launch bills as enabling human-like voice conversation. Awesome!
Big Kudos to the Multi-Channel monetisation team. You folks rocked it and it was a pleasure to work with you: Abraham Lobo, Bernhard Widtmann, Maurizio Longo, Michael Santana, Pajtim Matoshi, Ranjith K. ,TaeHoon Kyeng, Lana Zhang
Great pleasure to travel and work with some team mates from the DACH team: Julian Lang, Tobi Nitzsche, Biljana Cabrilo, Diana Jehle, Jakob Rosinski, Kevin Bader, Maurizio Longo, Pajtim Matoshi, Susanne Ebner, Tolga Orhon.
Hard work, requires also some recreation. Thanks to the folks at Arc XP (you folks rock), Embrace, Codemill and LOGIC media solutions GmbH for hosting me. Loads of interesting conversations. Cherry on the cake was again the AWS NAB Band night - an awesome blend of Partners, Customers and AWS on stage.
