✨ “It has never been a better time to be excited about the future.”
🔍 I missed this interview back in October last year when Jeff Bezos compared today’s AI boom to the internet bubble of the 2000s at Italian Tech Week 2025 [1]. He warned of hype but insisted AI is “real” and will transform every industry. In the interview, he explained why industrial bubbles can benefit society and predicted that AI will raise both productivity and quality worldwide.
💡 Super insightful interview and quite a grounded view on what’s happening now with AI Agents. A hype? A bubble? According to Jeff, there is a bubble, but this isn’t a bad thing: “The great thing about industrial bubbles is that when the dust settles, society benefits from the inventions that got funded… Even if the companies that built the infrastructure went bankrupt in the process.”
🧪 Many experiments are happening right now. Not all will succeed. By far. But they’re being made possible: “Investors don’t typically give a team of six people a billion dollars with no product, it’s rare and it’s happening today.”
📚 I spent the break reading extensively. Reflecting on the time after the last AI Winter we’ve witnessed. Reading about the rapid development of computers. I experienced a significant portion of this as an eyewitness. Really exciting times.
🌟 There’s so much to be excited about regarding the future. I agree. Even in these otherwise very challenging times.
🤔 What’s your take?
