The morning after re:invent day1 having a morning coffee over the lastest announcements. The unofficial AWS News Feed lists 49 - forty nine - announcements [1]. Quite some stuff, but I’m only shortly glimpsing over them. Promise?! Last year I wrote an article here [2], in which I was focussing on the AI enhancements over the re:invent 2024 days. Helped me at the time to get a better overview, not sure if I will do this again for this year. Views: Helpful?
A lot of AWS Transform feature, not surprisingly some AI agents for modernization purposes.
Great to see the announcement of the AWS MCP server, which consolidates AWS API and AWS Knowledge Servers into on single MCP. I went straight and update my Kiro configuration :) Dive deeper on this in the announcement article [3] or go straight to the documentation [4].
Quite some Amazon Connect launches, including MCP support [6], which opens a lot of new exciting opportunities to build new workflows based on Amazon Connect data.
AWS Clean Rooms supports synthetic dataset generation training custom ML training, which unlocks a whole new set of training use cases which have been previously been restricted du to privacy concerns[5]. Looking forward to see what customers are going to build on top of this.
Multimodal retrieval for Bedrock Knowledge Bases now generally available, which eases the usage of multimodal RAG-based use cases for your applications [7].
That is just a few of the announcements which drove my immediate attention. In the meantime the sun has risen and I’m late for my morning run.
What did stuck with you? Did you already build something new? What should I dive deep into once I’m back?
Resources in the first comment. Can’t wait to start tinkering and curious what surprises will be there tomorrow morning …
