Yesterday I had the pleasure to join my first 12min.me event. Never heard about it? It is a volunteer-driven NGO that hosts tightly time-boxed, 3ร12โminute talk evenings with Q&A and networking to connect people across industries around inspiring, relevant topics in a relaxed afterwork setting.
Three great talks set the topics for the evening with quite some insightful discussions among speakers and participants. Very insightful and I’m looking forward to the next event! ๐

Last week’s re:invent is a wrap. I guess many of the folks in my network are still busy with digesting what happened last week - like me.
It’s a wrap also for Werner Vogels rocking the stage with his CTO keynotes - aย 14-year streak starting from 2012:
ย 1. ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฎ: Introduced foundational principles of 21st-century cloud architectures, emphasizing distributed systems and fault-tolerant designs for scalable applications.

Amazing keynote by Swami Sivasubramanian. At least the first 40 minutes are super useful, even if you are not super interested in new service launches. Swami nicely breaks down how AI agents and Agentic AI are relevant, how they work and what are common challenges to adopt them. Being at an AWS keynote, he obviously also explains how you can implement your own Agents successfully.
William Brennan, VP Enterprise Technology at Blue Origin, talked intensively about their journey to take systems built by AI Agents, into space. Well, not everyone flies into space, but a lot of Blue Origin’s insights can be adopted to any enterprise. Some key aspects I noted are:

To all my friends, customers, colleagues & partners who are about to leave for #AWSreInvent - have safe travels and an awesome time!
Pre re:invent phase was crazy already. Take a look at Luc van Donkersgoed’s awesome aws news page at https://lnkd.in/etcCQJPv.
And - not all the firework burned off yet - by far.
We are watching from the sideline and absorb :)

From the original 2024 article:
“I turned out to be a very challenging but good learning experience. Although is it pretty hard to follow all those updates - even just on one single topic like GenAI. For me it turned out to be useful way of absorbing the information, I hope you as a ready get some benefit from this as well.

The morning after re:invent day1 having a morning coffee over the lastest announcements. The unofficial AWS News Feedย lists 49 - forty nine - announcements [1]. Quite some stuff, but I’m only shortly glimpsing over them. Promise?! Last year I wrote an article here [2], in which I was focussing on the AI enhancements over the re:invent 2024 days. Helped me at the time to get a better overview, not sure if I will do this again for this year. Views: Helpful?

๐ฏ It’s this time of the year. The AWS Community gets ready for the event of the year: re:Invent. And Werner Vogels publishes his tech predictions [1]. Like every year, a densely packed piece with loads of gems in it. Looking forward to his keynote on Thursday. This year Werner came up with 5 major themes, if I didn’t miscount. The first one is about:
