What a great evening yesterday at the AWS User Group Munich. The quote of the evening for me, yeah I might be a little biased š , was :
“There are multiple model launches in Amazon Bedrock. Launching new models in Bedrock became like new minor versions numbers for databasesĀ or other services. Hard to keep up with the pace”.
Reflecting on this, I think that is a very true statement. It underlines the pace of innovation in this space and the necessity of choice at your hands if you want to build #GenAI based application for your customers. Hence the need of a service like #AmazonBedrock. Also featured the Bedrock Converse API, which makes switching models even easier.

What a very looong weekend in Stockholm. Loved every second of it. Started of with spectating the #StockholmMarathon. Would have loved to join, but no last minute (literally) bibs available. Only learned about it in the hour before the start. Still had a very good time.
We started the week with a Prompt Engineering on #AmazonBedrock workshop leading participant through the implementation of a marketing use case. Was great to see Oliver Mƶller, Tobias Nitzsche and Chakkree TipsupaĀ in joined action. The workshop has been good received and AWS officeās in Stockholm have been a very welcoming place for all the customers.

Travelling into a long weekend and looking back to this weekās family reunion event aka #AWSSummit Berlin. To be honest, Iām a little exhausted but energised at the same time after meeting so many customers, partners and colleagues. Always good to reconnect.
Kind of pointless to list every valuable session of the summit here as it was way too many, but I really loved to see customers on stage sharing their success stories and providing insights into the joined journey which lead them there.

š¦ I was very happy to see so much attention on the topic of Prompt Engineering. The room was packed and participants left with some positive vibe to turn their #GenAI experiments and PoC into successful production application in 2024.
š Key will be a systematic and test-driven approach to build those prompts to generate reliable&robust applications. This will also enable to benefit from the stream of new models withe new capabilities & performances, which than can be smoothly integrated into their applications.

Thank you to Web Engineering Düsseldorf Meetup to provide us with the opportunity to connect with the community and Babiel GmbH for hosting this meet-up.
Most importantly to every single one joining the event. I love the discussions. Last but not least kudos to John and Dirk to join me on the journey of scaling applications.

š Yesterday I had the pleasure of joining a podium discussion āMore than Siri and Alexa: Women’s Voices in AIā[1] at the idealo Tech Events Berlin meet-up hosted at the idealo internet GmbH Offices in Berlin. Moderated by Katie Richard . The panelists(Nicole JƤnchen, Alexandra-Irina Nicolae š„, Natalie Noiman Norman and Andrea Springer-Ferazin) touched many interesting aspects, but the discussion around bias, gender and beyond,Ā in generative AI was the most sticky one for me.

Right now calming down a little in our Berlin offices. It has been a very intensive week including two fully packed days drinking from the firehose during the AWS Deep Dive Days 2024 - Generative AI (https://lnkd.in/eueY28Qh). Note that the following is just my personal reflection of the event and by far not a complete list of everyone and everything :)
Customer Talks: JensĀ andĀ ChristianĀ took us on their journey of using GenAI to optimize workload towards compliance with the Well-Architected Framework.Ā ChristianĀ andĀ TobiasĀ provided us with valuable lessons learned while building genAI applications.Ā TimĀ dived deep into their experience of creating fantastic results by fine-tuning smaller models instead going for the biggest available.

Indeed super nice memories. The group dived deep into data platforms and shared experiences - the good and the ugly. As you can see from the pictures, we had engaged discussions š . Looking back into 2023 it has been the year talking about GenAI for many, if 2024 should be your year of applying GenAI, you need to make sure that you get your data story figured out - happy to discuss! :)

I left #reinvent2023 in Las Vegas with a big bag of impressions: Countless interactions with Customers, Colleagues and Friends. I had the pleasure to reinvent with customers during Workshops and Chalk Talks - The vibe is strong.
šµ Like always we paid the desert a last visit before we left Las Vegas. A good way to cool down from the crazy times. This time we went to Arizona Hot springs - Highly recommended hike in close proximity to Las Vegas. Ā š¤ My feelings are with Customers, Partners and Colleagues, who didnāt have a smooth ride back home. Due to heavy snow condition in Germany we seem to be randomly spread in different locations but home. Ā š For me everything went as planned, as I headed over to New York to spend some time with our Partner AI21 Labs and colleagues to dive deep into their foundation models. Looking forward to build together. Ā New York might be even more crazy at this time of the year than usual. Ā š¼ The flight to Vegas Brought me back to the start of the USA travel - we flew over the Grand Canyon - photo credits to Stina Kyllerman. A nice framing for the travel.

Feeling a little tired after the night flight, but my mind is super awake from all the awesome impressions. Great customer conversation, connecting to the team and tipping the toe into South Africa - definitely need to come back :)
